I have a 15KW Centurion #4666 in service since Jan '06.
With respect to the fact that our host sells the OEM oil filters, are there any recommendations for the use or avoidance of aftermarket oil filters such as the oil filter manufactured by K&N? Will the use of a non OEM oil filter void the manufacturers warranty? Thanks Mark |

Numerous oil filters will fit. Automotive grade filters have a blowoff inside. When the pressure reaches x amount, the Fram/K&N/etc will blow off and let oil flow unfiltered forever.
The generac filters do not have this. When they get full of debris, they will plug up and create backpressure which in turn will shut down the engine. I wouldn't use anything but a Guardian oil filter. We sell them for $5.00 a piece |
