I am in the process of installing my new Generac 5502 generator. I am installing a RTSN100A3 transfer switch with the unit.
I am wondering if there is a maximum height that I can mount the transfer switch? I have a very limited area to install the transfer switch and I am
planning on mounting it above my existing sub panel. This would put the
base of the transfer switch at about 6 1/2 feet off of the garage floor.
This is fine for me cause im tall and I can reach it easily, but I
want to make sure its installed according to the NEC. I have found requirements for max breaker height in a sub panel, but not for a transfer switch.
Thanks in advance for any details you can provide.
