Had a 5639 Guardian installed @ Pierre Part. La in late April 2009. After installation and check out by installer, I broke it in per suggestions on this forum @ 25%/2Hr's, 50%/2Hr's, 75%/2Hr's, and 100%/2Hr's. Turned on everything in an all electric home and never strained the 25 KW generater. It has run perfect since with no problems. Changed breakend oil & filter @ 30 hrs and installed 10W/30 Pennzoil. No problems yet. My thermometer under the carport in the shade registers 102 degrees today.

Thanks for posting your results! Is the Pennzoil 10W/30 natural or synthetic? I'm installing a new 5639 from Ziller right now and plan to use the same regimen for break-in. I'm leaning towards using synthetic after the first oil change.

The Pennzoil 10W30 is natural that I used. We can see if either uses lots of oil if you use the synthetic. Good luck. Hickory Stick.

You guys are going to love that generator during a power outage! I've never received so many positive emails regarding a generator from customers after they've lost their power.

That's good to hear Kelly! Any feedback yet on oil performance? Any synthetic users providing results?
