Hi,
Here are two quotes from the 45 KW manual. Does anyone have any experience with this unit at 5 inches wc? Should I run a new meter with elevated pressure and then knock down the pressure to the building. If they run well at 5 inches I would like to stay at that pressure.

"Required fuel pressure for natural gas is 5 inches
to 14 inches water column (0.18 to 0.5 psi); and
for liquid propane, 5 inches to 14 inches of water
column (0.18 to 0.5 psi)."

"Gas pressure at the inlet to the fuel shutoff solenoid
should not exceed approximately 14 inches
water column (0.5 psi). Optimum pressure at the
fuel shutoff solenoid is 11 inches water column
(0.4 psi) "

Thank you
Tim

Are you using nat gas or propane? I have installed a 45kW on nat gas and the pressure was 6-7 inches WC. Haven't had any experience at 5 though. Assuming can get a person in trouble but since the manual says 5 inch WC is ok it should be. What kind of problems are you having?

Hi dave,
I am not having trouble. I am going to install one on NG. The manual says 5 inches will work but also states 11" optimum. I just wanted to make sure they run ok at the lower pressure.

I can't speak for the 45kw 1800, but I a few people running the 3600RPM generators between 4.7"-4.9" W.C. without any issue.

I just installed a 5261 45 kW, LP, 3600 RPM unit. This unit is awsome. I cant believe the HZ held 60 perfectly. I had to make sure I wasn't on utility power.
I hooked this to two 400 amp RTSE switches. The only problem that concerns me is the tag on the unit says it is set for NG at 7-14 inches and the book reads 5-14 inches WC. I have a NG installation coming up and I dont want to end up with a gas pressure issue. I guess I need to research this a little.
