View Full Version : Generators Direct / hurricane protection = SCAM!

I purchased a generator from generatorsdirect.net 26 days ago today. I have yet to receive the product. I was informed WHEN I PURCHASED that the generator was in stock, and it would arrive at my house in 5-7 business days.
10 BUSINESS DAYS LATER, I call to find out that quote-unquote seasonal demand. Since then I have been in a circle of lies with this company. They don't answer their phones, they now don't respond to any emails, and I am so frustrated. They charged my credit the day I purchased, and almost a month later, I am left here without any product.
Generac customer service told me to contact ziller electric, and here I am.
What do I do?

That's pretty horrible experience, but I can't imagine at all what Generac Customer Service hopes you'll gain by contacting a different retailer than the one you purchased from.
Also, this is just a discussion board, if you want to actually contact Ziller, you should call Kelly:
Kelly Myers
Ziller Electric Inc.

If I were you, I'd contact the credit card company and let them know you were charged one month ago for goods you haven't yet recieved. They have anti-fraud teams to handle stuff like this.

I personally would cancel my order with generatorsdirect and my credit card company and I would order another generator from Kelly at Zillerelectric. All you need to do is read 1/10th of Kelly's post on this forum to realize his company is the only place on the internet to order a generator. steve

Yikes! I just checked our shipping logs, and your generator left today, and it will actually be to your door tomorrow! I'm hoping it was just a mistake on their part, but I'm happy you got your order cancelled.
I'm not sure how I feel about a negative post like this about another dealer.. I may delete this. I'll have to think about it.
Fara, thanks for the nice comment.

Maybe just edit out the name of the other company, but leave the thread for others to learn from.

Kelly,
You seem to be a little too sensitive. Everyone loves you, relax.
